Records for the species
you care for.
Manage rabbits, birds, wildlife and other animals with fields suited to their care. Add animal types for the species you work with, and record treatment, locations and releases.
Add the animal types your organisation needs
Pawsies includes Cat, Dog, Rabbit, Bird and Wildlife. Add a custom type when you need to record another species or manage a group separately.
- Choose which animal types your organisation uses
- Add custom types such as Ferret or Reptile
- Configure fields for each animal type
- Keep the animals in one organisation
Choose fields that describe the animal’s care
Add a number field for a measurement, a date for an assessment or a dropdown for a set of condition descriptions. Place each field in the relevant section of the profile.
- Choose from nine field formats
- Group fields by subject
- Make supported fields available for filtering
- Rename or hide fields you do not need
Record releases as their own outcome
Use Released to wild when an animal leaves care for release. Record the date, destination and notes so the event can be reviewed alongside its intake and care history.
- Choose the appropriate intake reason
- Record the release date
- Describe the destination and circumstances
- Review intake and outcome summaries
Keep daily care with the animal’s record
Use medication courses, feeding records and tasks to organise the care each animal needs. Attach veterinary documents and add notes as the case develops.
- Record prescribed medication phases
- Log feeding rounds
- Assign care tasks with due dates
- Attach documents to the animal
Organise care locations
Create locations for clinics, enclosures, sanctuaries and rescue sites. Review the animals assigned to each location and update their records when they move.
Set access for each team member
Choose which feature areas a volunteer can view or update. Feeding access and financial access can be set separately.
Download data for reports
Export available record types as CSV files. Check the included columns against the information you need; exports contain selected data, not a complete case archive.
Default and custom animal types
Questions rehabilitators ask
Can we record a species that is not in the default list?
Yes. Add a custom animal type in organisation settings, then configure fields for the information you need to record.
Can different species have different fields?
Yes. Fields are configured by animal type. A measurement you add for birds does not need to appear on rabbit records.
Custom FieldsHow do we record a release?
Add an outcome and choose Released to wild. Enter the date, destination and relevant notes.
Intake/Outcome TrackingCan we keep permits and licences with the records?
You can upload supporting documents and link them to the relevant animal or other supported record. Add custom date or reference fields if you also need to record an expiry date or permit number.
DocumentsWhat if an animal has no name?
The animal form requires a name. Use a case number or temporary identifier, then add photos and any known identification details.
