Manage different species
in one organisation.

Keep cats, dogs, rabbits, birds and other animals together, with fields configured for each type. Your team can use the same care tools across the organisation.

Give each animal type the fields it needs

Configure fields separately for each type of animal. Keep common identification and care records together while adding questions relevant to each species.

  • Use cat fields such as coat pattern and ear-tip status
  • Add fields for other species’ care needs
  • Choose text, dates, options and other formats
  • Hide fields your organisation does not use

Build lists using conditions for each animal type

A Smart List selects animals from your records using rules you define. For example, create a group for cats with Neutered set to No and another for dogs marked Available for adoption.

  • Choose an animal type for a rule group
  • Combine conditions within a group
  • Use alternative groups joined by OR
  • List membership updates as records change

Coordinate care across species

Use the feeding board, medication board and task lists to organise daily work. These are separate tools, each showing the records relevant to that part of the job.

  • Record feeding rounds and filter by location
  • Enter prescribed medication schedules
  • Assign recurring tasks to team members
  • Record intakes and outcomes for each animal

Review the organisation’s recorded activity

Analytics brings together population, intake, outcome and financial information. Use the available date controls and location breakdowns to review changes across the organisation.

  • Review intake and outcome trends
  • See recorded neuter and microchip information
  • Review population history by location
  • Compare recorded income and expenses

Keep one contact for someone with several roles

A person can be a foster carer, adopter and contributor. Add the relevant roles to their contact record so the team can find their details in one place.

Choose access by responsibility

Set permissions for each feature area. A volunteer can have access to daily care tools while financial or administrative areas remain restricted.

Follow recorded changes

The activity log shows actions, users and times. Logged field changes can include previous and updated values, helping the team understand what changed.

Questions mixed rescues ask

Do we need a separate workspace for each species?

No. One organisation can contain multiple animal types, with fields configured separately for each type.

What if we begin caring for another species?

Enable an existing animal type or add a custom type in organisation settings. Configure the fields you need before creating its animal records.

Animal Tracking
Can we make a list for one species?

Yes. Choose the animal type in a Smart List rule group, then add supported conditions for the animals you want to include.

How can we review numbers for different groups of animals?

Analytics provides organisation-wide summaries and location breakdowns. Use animal lists to review selected groups, or the available CSV exports when you need further analysis.

Which animal types are included?

The defaults are Cat, Dog, Rabbit, Bird and Wildlife. You can also add custom types for the animals your organisation cares for.
